  1. Nowadays alot of touring pros and others will have their earbuds in and have some sort of music playing while on the range. I enjoy listening to my tunes while I practice...what do you listen to while you practice if anything? I have very eclectic taste in music. Lenny Kravitz on my pandora tyically produces a good list of music for me to have going while I practice. I enjoy practice so why not enjoy music as well??

very interested in what you guys are listening to if anything.

I normally just hit shuffle on the ipod and go with it. If something comes up that I do not like I change it.  Always want to have a good rhythm going so I can try and be productive in my practice session.  And sometimes you just gotta have some hard core metal playing when you hit a driver, just to help get that tension out.  I like slipknot and Ozzy for that.

I listen to soundtracks with just music no words. I feel it is more relaxing.

I do not listen to music at the range - just concentrating on the specific practice shot is enough for me.  Add music and it would make for a rather unproductive practice session for me.

  5. interesting you say that...I talked a with a pro about their feelings about music while practicing. The pro says try classical music, very good to use that and work on your tempo. ill try that next time im on the range

  6. Hey Dale,

I am a senior at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. Methodist is a university that provides Professional Golf Management. Every Friday they play all types of music, ranging from rock to hip hop, on the driving range while students practice. It's very enjoyable listening to music while practicing. Even when I go out on the course with my buddies one of us puts on pandora. I think it's a good way to relax while practicing, but when I'm playing serious golf I enjoy peace and quiet.

I'm a fan of practice music.  I usually listen to Dispatch, Guster, John Butler Trio etc... just to feel good and enjoy my range time.  I'll also toss on some hip hop (Common always seems to find it's way on the pod), or some instrumental music like RJD2, Emancipator, or Zero 7.  Some times I just hit shuffle and see what happens.

I won't listen to music if I'm going out to play, but if I'm on the putting green or the practice range just having some fun tunes are always appreciated.

Nothing beats John Coltrane or some old school 50 cent!

I love having the ipod on while praciting on the course in the evenings...Amy Grant is always in the mix along with all kinds of 70's, 80's, & 90's pop.  I would like to take this moment to apologize to anyone who had to hear me sing with ipod on while on the course...I forget that no one else can hear the music but me sometimes! :-)

I use mixed genre's as it allows my to really work on my concentration but helps to reset things (my normal problem on the range).

Hmm, I am going to try some music this spring.  Normal thing I have to overcome when practicing is my mind wandering and losing interest.  Maybe a little background music will help me focus.  I will probably try the Ipod Shuffle idea.
