  1. Have you realized that a month from this week is the week...the week that golf enthusiasts will visit the hallowed grounds of Augusta!!

    1. Have you been? What year? What was your favorite or most memorable moment?

1997, I was invited to go down with some friends who had tickets. I'll never forget that day!! Watched my favorite Freddie Couples warm up and eventually hit the course. I remember my first time of seeing Tiger in person--I was younger then and very much so in awe. I think the thing that stood out the most was the  immaculate condition and I've never such a course so well taken care of. If you haven't been, make the trip!!

That trip is tops on my "Bucketlist" . Would love to attend a practice round and get some shots of the course with my cameras.

    Dale,

I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago. I will be going to the Tuesday practice round this year and I can't wait. Two days of golfing with my brother and one day at Augusta National. I will be posting pictures when I get back!!

I haven't been but I will go.  I've loved it ever since I was a kid.  Best tournament of the year.  I always try to "work from home" for the Thursday and Friday before.

I went last year.  My dad and I went with one of his buddies.  We didn't know that TW was coming back, so that was a nice surprise.  The course just took my breath away.  Even the pictures I took can't describe how beautiful it really is. TW gave me a smile and a "thank you" when he walked by and I said "it's good to see you back".  Everything was amazing at Augusta National and if you ever have the chance to go it is worth every penny.

Made the trip last year with my Dad. It was a bucket list birthday present for him (I also notched that one on the bucket list). We had grounds passes for all four days. Unbelievable. We spent Thursday & Friday walking the course, following our favorite groups. It was great to see Tom Watson play so well, Freddie and also got our first glimpse of Matteo Manassero. Saturday and Sunday, we set up seats on 18 and watched the last 10 or 15 groups finish each day. Unbelievable experience.

    Highlights:

    • It's really green. Everywhere you look the perfectly manicured grass is amazing.
    • Hills, slopes and green undulations. It's no wonder putting is so important at Augusta. TV does not do this aspect of the course justice.
    • Sight lines. You can set up in certain parts of the course and see 3 or 4 different holes.

Overall, an incredible experience. It's worth the trip, if only once in your lifetime.
