As most of my buds on here know I have been out since the first of June, recouping mentally and physically. Going to see my pain management doctor this AM regarding my last epidural (a month ago) and to hit the range later. Light workout today, but will be doing it many days leading up to play my first round next Wednesday. Our golf team plays our monthly team match on the 7th of October and I am in. Exercises first thing this morning. Decided while we were cruising down the Rhine the past two weeks that I WANT to play golf again and enjoy it. Turned 78 in the Alps on the 10th. Score does not matter as long as I am having fun. If everything goes as planned, will go see my fitter and check out the new GT3s and go from there. Missed going with everyone to TX. Loved watching my Vols, the real UT, take care of OK on Saturday. Life is definitely good and am truly blessed. =)

Good luck with your match next week. I do like that you are putting "fun" as one of your goals...knowing you, that won't be a difficult goal to achieve. All the best my friend.

Good for you. Hope it allows you to play as much as you want.

I no longer worry about reaching long holes in regulation. Course management is more fun than being offline with long clubs in the rough or bunkers. Plan to play as long as I can make a full swing.

Range went well yesterday. Worked on gap wedge from 88 yards, slow easy swing with about medium bucket. Felt pretty good.
time finished flying over flag. Pretty accurate. Closer to 95 yards, so says my Bushnell. 9 iron today, 7 tomorrow, 5 Thursday, and hybrids on Friday, Rest on weekend, SEC football day on Saturdays. Always finish with five drives and a few minutes on the putting green. Will add a few chips today and some sand shots, maybe Thurs. Signed up to play on Monday. See how it goes and where I need work. It feels soooooooooooooooo good. Asked my pro to check my strikes on the face and he liked it. Hitting off matts M-Th. Off to the range and some FUN (for my right honorable friend on the other coast. =)). When back to regular game, it will be three days a week with my Rascals group and team golf once a month. The 63 holes I played at the Dormie Event in three days was just too much for this old body in June, which is the last time I played golf. My advice to everyone playing the crazy game, know your limitations and play this wonderful game for the fun of it. We do not get paid to do this. I play from the senior tees and leave my ego at home. Hakuna matata.

GREAT to see you back... and of course, as I always say, as long as we laugh more than we cry, it's a good round! Welcome back to the life-long love - golf!

There is no crying in golf, but a few tears of joy are ok. Quote my alter ego.

Had low expectations and sure glad I did. There were a lot of bumps in the road and a long way to come back. Not yet ready for any new equipment til I figure out where the ball is going, E,W,N,S. Hakuna matata.
