Most know that I took four months away from the game this summer. A little mental but mainly physical rehab. Did a lot ot physical therapy and pain management. Realized after that wonderful trip up to Pinehurst area and playing in the Dormie event, my body is just not cut out for three day events. We made our two trips to Europe (Spair, Portugal, Morocco) (Switzerland, France, Germany, and Netherlands) and had some wonderful experiences and made some new great friends. Found that our friends in Europe are in much better shape that we are. Upon return from the second trip on the 21st of September, visited with my pain management specialist, the following Monday, he said that I could return to hitting golf balls at the range that week. After finishing that week at the range, felt good and returned to playing the next week. What a surprise. Felt like I had not played in a year. Triple digit scores. Guess my muscles forgot how to work with my swing. After meeting with my pro and reprogramming those six inches between my ears things continued to improve. Have been playing three days a week and playing mixed 90's and even had a 90 score. Trying to remember that you have to crawl before you can walk. There still is some pain in my lower left back/hip area. There is another procedure (mild procedure, involving he nerve) but we are not there yet and they found spurs on L5. We met this week and they are pleased with my current status, in that I can do three days a week, but feel there are no three days in a row for me in the future. There is progress, but the mental aspect, I am working on it. Just do not worry about it. Nine years ago I shot my lowest round, a 69. With my current status that is no longer on the table. Will I be able to attend TTI events in the future, maybe, if they are a two day event. Just have to be real about my future playing golf, having fun and keeping within my ability. Staying in the fairways and hitting greens. Hakuna matata.

Very inspirational post. No better representation of what golf is. It becomes part of your life, and that's a good thing. Why, I don't know. Good luck with the game, and it would be an honor to have you in my foursome anytime.

Pretty happy today. Posted an 89. Was having a good day and just ran out of energy on the last four holes. There just might be hope. The mental side is improving as well. You know that old saying; golf is 90% mental and the other 10% is in your head. Kinda goofy but very true. Playing on our interclub team Monday at Dunes West Country Club. Coming down to the end of the season. The tempo is starting to improve. Think golf in Reno would fun. Visited that fun city when I worked Levis back in the 70's. As Regional Manager, my retail stores were the best performing for the season and I received a trip for my wife and I to Lake Tahoe and Reno. Stayed at Harrahs. Thanks.

Great update Chuck, glad you are back out there. I am having back issues and the last member/guest I participated in earlier this month made me think that my three consecutive golfing days in a row are behind me as well.

Whatever it takes to stay out there. Maybe only 2 days a week and hit a few balls in between. Hang in there.

Glad to see that you are taking it slow and easy, and following the advice of your care givers to get back out and enjoy the great game of golf.

Looking forward to seeing your posts here again.

Great to hear that you and your team see progress. It's frustrating when you don't see improvements. In 2024, the TT organizers put together many events and some were two and one day events; my guess we'll see something similar in 2025.

Thanks pal. As a 12 year member always on the lookout. Love the TTI events, but will have to be a little more selective in the future to meet my needs. Remember the first I attended in the Pinehurst area, which was a one day. Have had some times and met some awesome people over the years. Seen a lot of staffers come and go. The six inches between the ears improving as well as the lower back and game. Hope all is well on the other coast. Let's hope for a great '25 for all TT members. Hakuna matata.

Come to The Dale next year. Play The Tribute at American Dunes. Those are one-day outings with carts. There probably will be a few other similar outings in 2025. Hope to see you somewhere next year.
