The new Titleist GT280 — an addition to Titleist’s breakthrough line of GT metalwoods — makes its debut in Maui to kick off the 2025 PGA TOUR season, providing players the opportunity to game the new model in competition for the first time.

With many players seeking an additional option at the top end of their setup, Titleist tour reps and R&D engineers worked with players such as Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris to dial in a 13-degree head that worked as a go-to club off the tee and off the deck. Building off the success of the TSR 2W prototype, which debuted on TOUR at last year’s PLAYERS Championship, the introduction of GT280 at Kapalua marks the start of Titleist’s tour validation process for the new mini-driver.

While collaborating with the game’s best players throughout the R&D process, and then earning their final validation, is foundational to the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment, we want to hear from you too. What kind of option are you seeking for the top end of your bag? Would you game a GT280? Do you already have that ideal option? Let us know below!

    Prolly not 280
  7. This is flat out awesome news. 280cc. Perfect size. 13 degrees. And you can adjust the weighting to get different ball flights. Heavier in the back will kick it up some. Heavier in the front weight hole will lower the ball flight some. And you have the lie angle adjustability with the Surefit hosel-adapter as well if you need it. Perfect!!

I’m wondering if this will use the fairway wood adapter or the driver adapter? It appears like the fairway adapter is used. I have a bunch of both.

I’m playing the new GT3 at 9 degree with a 45.5” Project X HZRDUS T1100 6.5 80 “X” gram tipped 1.5”. Smashing it. 183MPH ball speed. It’s the best driver head I’ve ever owned. And I go all the way back to the 975D with Titleist over 27 years ago.

I am going to throw the shaft I’m currently using in my 913FD 13.5 in to this when it comes out to start testing shafts. I’ve got the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Red Hand Crafted 6.5 85 “X” tipped 2” in there. Getting a great ball flight with it.
  8. I assume would be a 280cc which would be perfect when rivaling the BRNR which is 304cc
  9. Will it – in time – be available for clubgolfers?
  10. I think this club could be a wonderful option for players of many skill levels. In my experience, having hit mini drivers offering from other manufacturers, they are a wonderful alternative to the 460cc, 45” club that is today’s driver. I find that I’m just as long with a mini as I am a proper driver, and often more accurate. I’d game this club in a heartbeat. I can’t wait until it’s available for purchase.
  11. This is great to hear.
  12. What is the size comparison to the TSR2+ head, and is 13° the only loft it will be offered in?

The TSR2+ is 190cc and the GT will be 280cc
  14. High performance with confident look and classic styling
  15. I have a tendency to “slice”. Will opening up this 13° exacerbate my tendency?
Thanks much to all that reply.

Assuming it is adjustable from 12.25 to 14.5 degrees, moving to 13.75 or 14.5 degrees (closes the face at setup) and adjusting the weights towards a draw will help. But can’t overcome a swing flaw.
  17. If there are two movable weights you will be able to adjust them to lower spin. Won’t cure the slice but might be able to call it a ‘fade’.
  18. That’s awesome!!
  19. I like the idea of a smaller, larger than a fairway metal 13 degree option….i noticed it has two weights which look like this gives you additional customization for swing weight and ball control. I would definitely put this in my bag!!

When will the GT280 be available to the general public?
  21. This is awesome, I have TSR2+ and am in the market for a mini driver. I hardly hit 3W from the FW so a Mini driver is ideal for me. I use the TSR2+ off the tee to control how far it goes and avoid going long into a hazard. Love my GT3 driver so this should be amazing. Only 1 catch with me, I am left handed, will this be available left handed?
  22. Great to see this new addition to the Titleist big dog clubs. I very often use a 3 wood but a 2 wood could be even better.
  23. I currently game a mini driver made by another manufacturer and I like it because it gives me tighter dispersion and serves as a fairway finder on those very tight holes. So I would be absolutely thrilled to take a look at the GT280! Can’t wait for it in fact!
  24. Always looking for something off the tee to give my game an advantage.

I would definitely game a mini-driver, if it works for me. Trying new equipment is difficult for us ams, but is necessary.
  26. I'm excited to try this new club! I currently have the TM 300 mini driver in 11.5 degrees in this place in my bag. I'm excited to try the Titleist! When I play the TM at 13.5 degrees, it balloons on me. I hope this model has less spin, so it retains a piercing ball flight. If I get what I want from this club, I would love to put it in this spot in my bag!
  27. Fantastic news! Please bring this new mini driver to market for the general public soon. I have been gaming a TM BRNR mini driver as a go-to tee club whenever I need to play a draw and as a 3 wood replacement for several years. This allows me to play a slight fade with driver and a draw with mini driver. But as a longtime Titleist guy with Titleist clubs for my driver, utility, irons, and wedges, I am hopeful to be able to put this GT280 in my bag in 2025! The sure fit hosel and adjustable weighting in this mini driver will be great.. The 280 cc size sounds perfect! Love that it has the sure fit hosrl and 2 adjustable weights like my TSR4 driver. Will the GT280 sit square to slightly open at standard setting like my TSR4 driver does?

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time now. I have some extremely narrow driving holes at some of the local courses I play…having something versatile from the tee and the deck with a deeper face than my 4W will be extremely helpful in saving a shot or two a round. I can’t wait to get the GT280 in my back. I will probably combo this with a GT2 5W or 7W depending on my gapping. Good thing I have a GT2 4W, 5W, and 7W already

I think this would give me the chance to put a driving iron AND a driver/fairway combo in the bag. I've not always been a fan of the monster driver--I like the smaller head. If it's adjustable, so much the better...
  30. How great this has to be to be able to use a club like this. I have an old Nicklaus 3 wood that I’ve had since 2002. I’ve tried numerous 3 woods to replace it. From a recent foot surgery, I can’t hit a driver consistently due to not being able to push off properly. The driver is the only club I struggle with since the surgery. I really hope this mini driver becomes available to non tour pros. This may be the answer to upgrading my 3 wood / not being able to hit a driver any longer. Fingers crossed for sure.
  31. Also curious in the shaft length of it to give more control.
