What shafts do you play in your Vokeys? Do you play XStiff, Stiff, Regular or a softer shaft for feel? What are your thoughts?

Not much choice if you buy from a golf shop, but you can order wedges with a different shaft. Some players like the heavier wedge shafts and some players like a shaft similar to their irons. There is no one answer on which is better. A wedge fitting is the best approach if you can get one. Personally I have the KBS Tour 90 R flex shaft in my irons and went with the Pro Modus 105 wedge shaft in my wedges. I wasn't fit for them but was lucky enough to be able to try out a couple different options. I gave up a very slight amount of distance, but get a little more feel and control both on full swings and chipping. For me it was a good choice.

    Dr. K,

I was fit at TPI in April. They recommended that I order the exact same shafts in the SM9’s as the T200’s they fit me into. In my case it was AMT Red S300.

To each their own. We’re all different.

I have lightweight graphite shafts in my irons an I’m more of a sweeper. Mr. Vokey convinced me to fully utilize the bounce on a wedge, so I swing a little steeper on those partial shots. As a result I use a heavier, stiffer shaft for those shots. The iron shafts flex more for inconsistent response. As well as switching grinds with more bounce

Vokey mentioned its a benefit to have a slightly softer flex in wedges. I put in Project X io 5.5 in my wedges. Really love the feel of it.
