  1. Old man here with high handicap. Went from a 15 to currently 20. Been playing srxn Q Star but want to switch to Titleist. Probably lose too many to go with the high end balls so was looking for differences between the Tour Soft and Tru Feel. I don’t hit very long, Driver 210, 7 iron 135. Those of you that have played them both what can you tell me about differences? I bought a dozen of the Tour Soft to try but due to a hip issue I have not been able to play for the last four weeks. Thanks for any tips.

    Hey Bob,
The Tour Soft and TRU Feel (there is no TRU Speed) are both good balls. The Tour Soft is a better all-around ball since it provides good distance, decent spin and good feel on putts. The TRU Feel is also a decent all-around ball. It's biggest drawback though is it doesn't spin as much as the Tour Soft. It doesn't check up well on approach shots or with green side chips/pitches. However, if you are looking for a ball that gives you increased distance, you may be better off with the TRU Feel and as a plus they are offered at a lower price point.

TruFeel is a softer ball. You should be able to pick up a sleeve or 2. The Tour Soft may perform better for you around greens. As they promote, start green side and work back to the tee. Whichever works best for your game tee to green, go for it.

If you go to the "Balls" section on the website, Titleist has great information that explains each ball in detail. Much more than you will get from us. Basically, TruFeel is the economy line ball. Great ball but basic two piece construction. Tour Soft is the intermediate line ball, a little more technology and materials for moderately advanced performance at a medium price point. My advice would be to go with the one that feels best to you and stick with it as best you can to aide in your consistency, especially around the greens. Good luck and great playing. Right plan to move to a Titleist ball.

Titleist no longer makes the Tour Speed. The two balls available now are the Tour Soft $40 dz and Tour Feel $25 dz. Both are soft feel. The TS is a mid-flight ball, where the TF is a lowflight ball. Pretty close in all other categories. The TF costs less if that is a factor. But a sleeve of each and give them a try.

I normally play Pro V1, but was given a sleeve of Tru Feel at an outing that I was playing in. I thought it was a pretty good ball. Nothing is going to feel, chip, putt or check up like the Pro V balls, but I definitely wouldn't mind playing Tru Feel.
