  1. Sunday afternoon at Cog Hill's Ravines Course. Hole 14 is a 140yd par 3 with an actual ravine separating a raised tee box from the heavily sloped green surrounded by thick rough and evergreens. My soft 8 had the ball trending toward the hole when we heard a loud noise (thought it hit the flag stick and ricocheted into the rough). Two of my playing mates to follow each hit the green (one within a foot of the hole). As we approached the green we only saw 2 balls in sight and knew mine was either in the hole or in trouble....I got out of the cart as quick as I could, made my way to the hole and found my Titleist right where I'd hoped. Turns out the loud sound we heard was the ball carving out the side of the hole before landing and sticking in the bottom of the cup.
