Replacement ball

  1. I've only had one in my entire life. Monday, 16 July 2001. I was 17 years old and still pretty bad at golf. But I got to the 3rd hole at Modderfontein Golf Club and had a 160m (175y) shot to a tough pin waiting for me.

My mom was walking the course with me for the first time ever and having started birdie, par, I rifled off the excuses about how I hated the 3rd. It was a full 6i (my least favourite club), and it required a draw to get to the pin (my natural shot shape is a fade), so I was attempting to lower expectations for a hole I normally bogied. I proceeded to flush the 6i straight at the greenside bunker on the left, which had a caddie standing in it raking the bunker. I was so worried about killing the caddie, that I never watched my ball take a kind bounce off the top of the bunker and roll into the hole. While I was screaming FORE and watching the caddie dive out of his foxhole like a WWII soldier in Bastonge, the ball settled in the bottom of the cup.

My mom screamed with joy and took off for the green. I stood in bewilderment hearing the fourball in front of me clap. As I reached the green seconds after my mom, I watched her reach in and take the ball out of the hole saying "see". I was very upset she did that, so she put the ball back and I got the honour of being the second person to remove MY hole in one ball out the hole.

To make matters worse, the ball I used to get the hole in one (a 2000/2001 Titleist) was chewed by my mom's dog a couple of days later. I still have the pink tee and the ball, but its a mess. I'd love a replacement 2001 392 ball if any are lying around?
