  1. Hey All, in a position most of us married men haven’t experienced, I was approved to get new irons. Currently gaming 718 Ap2 with KBS C-Taper + and couldn’t be any happier. Have put in the work over the fall and winter to get prepared for competition (tourneys) this year and wondering if it would be valid to make the move now, or game my irons this year and hold off till the new drop comes out? If going by typical schedule, new irons are slated to come out next year….

All thought and opinions are welcome.

If it was me, I'd take purchase authorization you have and schedule my fitting immediately. As someone gaming the 718's, you should see an improvement with a current set of T series irons. Of course, a good Titleist fitting (check for local Titleist fitting sites using this link: www.titleist.com/locator, will reveal any improvements you're likely to see with a new set. The problem with waiting until the new release is there are some unknowns and aren't you better off knowing what's out there now versus the unknown? Like the saying goes, "A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush."

Adam, I have been married 45 years to one wonderful southern lady. No worries when it comes to golf and am blessed. She just will not buy me anything golf related for birthday or Christmas. I asked "myself" the other day, do I want to get the new T300s when they come out this fall and of course the answer was YES. I am retired and have a part time job in the golf industry, to supplement my golf habit, allowing me to purchase whatever golf needs I have. Guess I am one of the lucky ones. I usually buy irons every other cycle and it is time. Tried the current T300s and they have a great feel. Usually the pros put them into play in July and then they are released for fittings in late September for arrival to Titleist loyalists in October. Just going on past history. That is just seven months away, not that long for the newest irons.

I’d wait for the new ones, then you could compare the two and if you like the current model better, they might be cheaper. Just my 2 cents

Adam, I find myself in a similar boat and I think I'm going to wait. The key for me is that I don't "need" new irons. If you "couldn't be happier" with your current set-up, and you've been hard at work to get ready for the season using those irons, I'd put the AP2s in the game, see what improvements you might need from that, then see what the new drop offers. Good luck!

You’d have to go hit them. I changed to the original T100S and then got the newer T100S (2021) which are fantastic. I think the new T100 series is actually forgiving while giving you the same feel. I don't know what irons Titleist will release to take the place of the T100 series or what performance changes will be implemented, but after hitting them at demo day, I was sold. The TSR is actually a worthwhile change from TSi. Im trying to combat getting older, so sometimes it takes a while before I can start hitting my TSi3. The new TSR2 is the same thing but way easier to launch with similar spin as my TSi3. Was impressed.

I'd wait. Especially if you're happy with the Ap2...........unless your bride slipped in a statute of limitations clause!!
  8. You all have very valid points!
  9. I’m in a similar position gaming the 2019 T200s. Gonna game them the rest of 2023 and hope for an awesome update on the 2023 Irons. Otherwise I can always go back and get the 2021 T100s

I’m in a similar situation with my 716 AP1’s. I started hitting them well, just when I started having thoughts about replacements. I’ll likely give them another year. No need to replace if they are working. (Can’t believe I just said that.)

If your happy with your clubs then I would wait. Or try sampling/hit the new T series and if you see they feel much better then your current irons, buy them.

I would wait... irons have a long shelf life and if you love your irons and have them dialed in yardage wise going into your tourney season then you will have confidence playing them. I think a great time to buy/test is late summer/early fall after you have been playing all season - your major tourneys are over. That might work out best for you. You can look at the current T series which will still be available, but at the same time Titleist should be releasing their new irons so you can get a look at those too.

Love your bag too, mine is pretty much the same. I'd wait for the new ones, since it looks like you have the TSRs as well. Because in 6 months when the new ones are out, you're going to kick yourself for not waiting.

Also, you could try another route of negotiation. Buy a new putter now, irons later...

First congrats on getting permission your already ahead of the field when it comes to that. I would personally wait until the new release, its only a few months away and will be another two years before the next drop.

If it helps, a fitter mentioned to me few weeks back that the new Tseries irons are coming out earlier than normal this year, likely in the summer instead of the fall.

Personally, I’d wait for the new ones and get “on cycle”
  17. The season has just started and I agree with others. Wait and buy after you play some tournaments with what you are familiar with. You don’t need surprises right when getting started.

I’m going to wait till fall although I will be adding a few Vokey’s in the next 2 weeks

I received a similar offer about a month ago and I decided to wait out for the new clubs next year.

Either way you go will be a win in my book.
  20. Just wait.
I got fitted for the T100s a few months ago and was about to buy them but realised i can wait until the 23' irons come out. I haven't bought a new set in over a decade so i'm due
