Next week, we will be spending time with Titleist experts from our metals, irons, Vokey, and fitting teams. The purpose of this session is to answer questions from everyday golfers like you.

If you have a question (or multiple questions) please ask them below. More specifically, we are looking for questions about TSR metals, New T-Series irons, Vokey wedges, and anything and everything club-fitting

By contributing with a question below, there is a good chance your question will be featured in a Titleist video in the near future. We appreciate your help in advance!

The age (77) factor has finally taken over and I have lost at least one club in distance. Very hard to deal with mentally and adjust. A 7 iron was always my go to club at 150 yards and that has now changed to a six iron. I met with my fitter recently to try the new T350's and it did not go so well. He, as a friend, told me that I was not ready due to medical issues. Lacking club head speed. Since then, had steriod epidural injection and numerous visits with my Physical Therapist (who is also TPI Certified). My therapist has been working on the areas I need to ease the pain and increase my speed. Am able to stand taller and feel some relief and can now hear some zing in the swing. Feel my speed is enough now to hit the 7 around 140 and plan on going back to see my fitter.

With the longer irons hard for me to generate enough speed, am considering a hybrid instead of a five iron when I get my new set (6-48W). My preference in shafts for my hybrids the Fujikura Motore Shafts, but know those are no longer available. Have those currently on my Fairway TSiF 15.75* and two hybrids, 816h 17*, 818 21* (just can't let them go). Want something very close if I go with hybrid? Would you recommend going with the Hybrid vs the 5 iron or ordering a 2* stronger on the new set to compensate for the loss of yardage?

My previous irons (original T300s) are the AMT Red R300 shafts in the irons, based on a previous fitting and would like to try the NS Pro 950 GH R when I go back for my fitting.

    1. Getting over loss of yardage?
    2. Hybrid? Shaft?
    3. Irons with 2* strong? Shaft?

    Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

    Question:

I've incorporated the new T350 in the bag since its release. Since the T350 is new to the 2023 T Series line, I wanted to know how the designers and engineers decide to introduce a completely new model versus just updating a prior one?

Thanks in advance for answering my question. BTW, the T350's have been awesome!

I have a couple of questions:

    1. TSR Drivers: I am keen on upgrading to the TSR from my 913 D3 but would love to wait for the 2024 release. When could I expect the earliest fitting for the next TSR release ?

    2. Fittings: If I am happy with my irons but would like to have another fitting to review shaft, loft, lie specs - does Titleist offer this fitting service ? Also, would Titleist then be able to take my current MBs and rebuild them to the new specs and send back my old shafts?

    3. Wedge build: I recently was fitted and ordered my SM9 54 10S wedge with 4 wraps of grip tape. I absolutely love the feeling of the grip and the wedge. When I went to Golf Galaxy to have them regrip my 3 current wedges with 4 layers of grip tape it was not as thick. Does Titleist use a different grip tape (thicker?) than other retailers like Golf Galaxy?

    1. Late summer 2024 assuming usual release cycle.
    2. No and no. However the MB is still the 2019 version. You could pay $100 for a fitting of the 620 and then have a local shop rebuild if you need a new shaft. Consider the resale value of your current, the fitting fee, and the rebuild charge versus new clubs to see if it is worth it.
    3. Possible. It’s not like Titleist has proprietary tape. 4 would make the grip harder to apply. Maybe they stopped at 3? My personal bias is GG on 2 separate occasions didn’t align an oversized putter grip. I rarely buy anything there but balls if I get a gift card.

BTW, Titleist sponsors the forum but the employees rarely respond. Maybe your local Titleist rep can get an answer for #3.

I noticed a Japanese version of the 2023 T400 irons. Are there any plans to release these in the U.S?

I am gaming the 2021 T200s 3-GW. Is there any changes in the make up of the clubs? Specifically with the polymer backing? Scheduled for fitting Wednesday 10-18-2023 here on Long Island with a Titleist fitter. THANK YOU

Thanks for the opportunity to ask some questions. Two for me.

    1. With the well documented "Titleist Speed Project" that created the last three TS versions, will there continue to be a focus on speed for the next version or will a different priority drive the next generation?

    2. The new T Series irons seem to be better suited for blended sets. Now that people have been ordering for several months, what are the percentage of blended sets being purchased and how different is that from past generations of irons.

2.A. Can you break down on mixed versus straight sets by Titleist led fittings against 3rd party fitters and/or rack sets?

Average golfers typically get fit into the stock shafts. Not that they are bad shafts, but are there exotic/upcharge shafts that are superior for feel More like for driver swing speed 85-100 mph. It doesn’t help me to see what the male pros use.

The Titleist drivers have a rough patch on the center portion of the face. Other manufacturers have not incorporated this. What advantage does it add?

Thanks, looking forward to a new driver in 2024!

With the Sure-Fit hosel on Titleist metals since the 910 series, I thought that loft and lie were adjusted independently. Recently, I noticed that there is a chart showing the change in face angle when adjustments are made. Is this accurate, and does it make a difference if I grip the club with the face 'square' (i.e., holding the club in the air instead of resting on the ground when taking my grip)?

At what point is the club face going to be maxed out with CORE & ball speed? Or are there going to be just minor engineering tweaks for each release?

Is there ever going to be an "illegal" driver made by Titleist? Similar idea like that of the Krank?

If you get fit for wedges but the turf conditions aren’t the same as your normal playing conditions, is there a way to ensure you’re playing the proper grind and bounce for your usual conditions? Or is wedge fitting based more on the individual swing and preference of feel of the different grinds?
  15. I was fit a couple years ago with the TSi2 driver and absolutely love it. Very rarely offline but I am looking for a few more yards off the tee. I have a regular shaft but my swing speed has increased and I am wondering if I might be able to use a stiffer shaft to gain a few more yards, or, would an upgrade to the TSR with a regular shaft give me a boost in distance?
